The Great Cat Pass of '07
Tomorrow Joe and I are flying out to AZ to spend two weeks with my family. This, however, presented a problem since we were certainly not going to fly across country with our cats, and two weeks is far too long to just have someone come by daily and give them food. Our cats are needy, social creatures. They need to be petted and loved in addition to being fed. For these same reasons I wasn't crazy about boarding them.
So last weekend, while Joe's parents were here visiting, Joe's dad, Joe, offered to meet us halfway between our houses (over 180 miles - about 290kms - for each of us) and take our cats. How awesome is that?! I don't think many people volunteer to cross state lines just to pick up your cats. My family-in-law is the best.
Anyway, yesterday we gathered the kid and the cats, and headed out to Hazelton, PA.
It was a long drive and Lucy fell asleep for a while.
... and Lucy got to hang out with her Papa Joe and Auntie D for a bit.
We finally had to say good-bye to the kitties and head home. Now that Lucy is in a forward facing car seat, I can sneak a look at her from my visor mirror. I did so on the way home, and caught this:

I love the photos...especially of Lucy in the middle of the cat carriers, and of course the one of her picking her toes.
